Questions about installs and repairs

Q&A

Questions

Q1Why is my composite decking lifting at the ends?

Usually because the ends were butted tight with no expansion gap, or the joists under the joint are too far apart. Both are fitting issues, not board faults.

Q2Why does my composite deck feel bouncy?

The joists are probably too small for their span, too far apart, or the posts have sunk. It's fixed from underneath.

Q3Does a bad install void the board warranty?

Makers' warranties usually depend on the deck being fitted to their guide. If it wasn't, the warranty may not cover problems. A proper repair can bring the deck back in line with the guide.

Q4Can you just screw the boards down?

Screwing through the face stops boards moving, which can make splitting and lifting worse, and may affect the warranty. We fix the cause and use the maker's clips.

Q5Do you charge to look at photos?

No. Our view from photos is free, and there's no obligation.

Q6How soon can you start?

It depends on the season. Tell us your timing on the form and we'll be straight with you about dates.
